What counts as luxury here?

Five-star hotels and properties from recognised luxury groups and collections, each passing our quality bar on guest score and wellness depth. A famous name alone isn't enough.

Which European country is best for a luxury spa break?

Italy has the most choice and the widest range — thermal towns, lakes, coast and Dolomite spas. Austria and Switzerland do the deepest, most serious spas. Greece and Portugal are the strongest for a five-star stay by the sea, and Portugal stays mild enough for winter.

Do you charge more for booking through Retreat48?
