The Algarve has the largest concentration of full-service resort spas. The Douro Valley pairs quieter wine-estate hotels with serious treatment lists. Madeira runs mild all winter, which makes it the strongest choice between November and March.
Is Portugal good for a winter spa break?
Madeira and the Azores stay mild through winter, and the Algarve is comfortably warmer than the UK from October onwards — with off-peak prices at the same hotels. It's one of the better-value luxury winter breaks in Europe.
