When is the best time to ski?
Across the Alps, mid-January to mid-March is the sweet spot — the most snow, the coldest temperatures and the best cover top to bottom. December is festive but early, and April can be gloriously sunny at altitude. Each resort page shows its own season window and peak months, because a low resort and a glacier resort are not the same bet.
Which resorts have the most reliable snow?
The high and glacier resorts: Val Thorens, Tignes, Val d'Isère, Cervinia, Zermatt, Saas-Fee, Obergurgl and Ischgl are snow-sure across the season. We rate every resort's snow reliability so you can weigh it against your dates.
Which resorts are best for late-season or spring skiing?
Glacier and very-high resorts hold snow into late April and May — Val Thorens, Tignes, Zermatt, Saas-Fee and, in the US, Mammoth and Snowbird. If you're going after Easter, start there.
How do you get to the resorts from the UK?
Most Alpine resorts are a short flight to Geneva, Lyon, Innsbruck or Turin and a transfer up; we plan the flight and show the door-to-door time. When you're approved we'll add transfer and kit-hire booking to the trip too.
